All Over Composition
For my first collage class assignment, we were instructed to draw horizontal and vertical lines that cross the entire page on an 18"x24" paper. Then, we must fill each shape with different papers or imagery to achieve an "all-over" composition. All shapes in the composition were to be equally interesting visually so that the viewer's eye should move with equal interest throughout the composition.

Visual Narrative
In this assignment, we had to create a collage that tells a story or functions as a visual allegory. The final composition could be autobiographical, naturalistic, or fantasy based. This explored the story-telling potential of collage, relying solely on the evocative power of image combinations and using no text.

Self Representation
For this assignment, we were instructed to make an image that represented ourselves pictorially. It could have been interpreted as a self portrait or not, and it could have been approached using abstraction, a composite of imagery you feel reflects who you are, or another strategy. I decided to try digital collaging for this assignment, using the Procreate app on my iPad.

Under the Influence
This project was influenced by Barbara Kruger, where I adopted key features and aspects from her style: red highlight and bold, white words. This project was intended to teach us how welcoming influences from other artists can be a learning experience, nourishing your own work and suggesting new directions.

Social/Political Project
This piece challenged us to create a collage that considers a social/political issue that is important to ourselves. The image should be of a clear topic and direct the viewer to your intended opinion.

Surrealism Study
I created this piece to help create my One Point Perspective painting. At the time, I was very interested with surrealism collages and wanted to make one of my own.
